Intro

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to start a blog. So many false starts. So much pressure to have an aesthetic or writing style nailed down before giving it a chance. And the intimidation! There are countless people out there doing this, and much better than I ever could. Why would anyone want to read my blog when they have the whole Internet?

I’m not offering any guarantees that I will keep up with it, but I’m excited to try again, and I’ll tell you why. I post to Instagram regularly, but I’m making some major life changes (moving to another country!!! more on that later), and I want a platform where I can talk about thoughts, share advice, record experiences, post travel photos…things like that. I feel bad whenever I write paragraphs in Instagram captions, so I guess I’m looking for an outlet to be able to let out some words, whether anyone reads them or not. I have a vague vision of what I want this blog to look like, and beyond that, I’ll let whatever clutter falls out of my brain dictate the direction it takes. It might be a meandering path through a foggy twisted forest, and we might get lost a little.

Be forewarned that from time you time you might find half-manic rants about Ghibli movies or Avatar: The Last Airbender characters or saving sharks or solo travel or cute dogs or the state of the world or whatever other thing is burning a hole in my brain and needs to be set free. I’ll be sure to tag all my posts so if you want to stick to the art-related ones, you can go straight to the illustration and design tags. Same with travel. I have a feeling that in addition to posting relevant things, this might become a place where I spew out thoughts on topics I’m passionate about and have put way more thought into than any healthy person would.
